Privacy notice

Last updated 3 Nov 2026

This notice is version 2026-11-03, dated 3 Nov 2026. When you tick “I agree to the privacy notice”, we record that you agreed to this version, and when.

What we collect, and why

  • Your email, from everyone who asks for a Company Brief or buys: to send your Company Brief or Interview Round Prep, its status and your receipts, and, if you use a coupon code, to allow one coupon code per email.
  • The job link or the job description you paste: to research the role.
  • Your interview date and time, if you give them: for the countdown on your page, and to do the most urgent work first when we are busy.
  • A hash of your IP address and your browser type, from every form you send: to stop abuse. We never store your IP address itself.
  • Your CV, if you add one to a Company Brief, and always for Interview Round Prep: for the “How you fit this role” section, and so your answers are built from your own experience.
  • Your notes (why you are moving, what you built or led, what you have told the company, your notice period, relocation), for Interview Round Prep: so your answers are true and stay the same from round to round.
  • What you tell us about your interviewer (name, job title, LinkedIn link, their profile as a PDF or screenshots, and anything you paste), for Interview Round Prep, if you give it: to prepare you for that person’s interview, from their career and public work.
  • Debriefs, if you hold a pass and add them: for your next round’s Interview Round Prep.
  • Your name for the receipt and the payment reference, when you buy: for receipts and refunds.
  • An anonymised record of each Company Brief, Interview Round Prep and purchase, kept after we delete your data: details of the job and round, the questions we predicted and the ones you told us you were asked, and what you bought. It holds no name, email or CV. We use it to improve The Panel Brief.

You give us your CV, notes and interviewer details yourself, for the purpose shown beside each field.

Who processes it for us

  • Anthropic, which runs the AI that researches and writes.
  • Cloudflare, which hosts the site and stores our data and files.
  • Razorpay, which takes payments.
  • PostHog, which counts visits and actions without cookies, and never receives your email or name.
  • Resend, which sends our emails.

How long we keep it

  • Company Brief requests, with the Company Brief, its feedback and any mistake you reported: 12 months after your last request.
  • A job you sent us and never paid for, with your email: 30 days after we read it.
  • An order you started and never paid for, with what you gave us for it: 30 days after you started it.
  • CVs and the stories built from them: until you delete them, or 12 months after your last interview, whichever comes first. Your last interview is the later of the latest interview date you gave us and your latest request or Interview Round Prep.
  • Interview Round Preps, with their debriefs, changes, feedback and any mistake you reported: 12 months after your last interview, as your CV.
  • Job Hunt Passes: 12 months after the later of the pass’s end date and your last interview.
  • What you uploaded or pasted about an interviewer: deleted 90 days after your round. Your Interview Round Prep keeps what it says about them until the Interview Round Prep is deleted.
  • Public research about an interviewer: reused for 30 days, then refreshed or deleted.
  • Consent records: one year, or as long as we keep what they cover.
  • Security logs: one year.
  • Receipts and payment records: as long as tax law requires.
  • Our server logs: 7 days.
  • Anonymised records: as long as they’re useful. They hold no name, email or CV.

What you can ask of us

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, name someone to act for you, or make a complaint. Write to support@thepanelbrief.com from the email you used with us. We acknowledge your request within 48 hours. If you ask us to delete your data, we do it usually within 24 hours, and always within 30 days; anything else you ask for, we complete within one month. You can delete your CV yourself at any time with “Delete my CV” on your Company Brief, Interview Round Prep or pass page.

The unsubscribe link in our emails stops them, except those about something you asked for or paid for that is still under way: a Company Brief or Interview Round Prep we’re making, a receipt, changes you asked for, a refund, and the note that your data is deleted.

Interviewers

We research an interviewer only when a candidate names them, and only their work: their career, roles, and what they said or wrote in public. Never their personal life or contact details. A Company Brief may also name the person likely to lead the hiring for the role, from public sources, marked “Likely”. That name leaves our research after 30 days; a Company Brief that already shows it keeps it until the Company Brief is deleted. To ask us to stop using information about you, write to support@thepanelbrief.com. We acknowledge it within 48 hours and act on it within 7 days.

Children

The Panel Brief is for people aged 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone younger.

Security

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Your files are private, and each page about you has its own private link.
